Certificate III In Children's Services

This course will equip students with the skills needed to plan activities and provide care to children which facilitates their leisure and play.The qualification equips you to enable children to fulfill their potential. It is a prerequisite for anyone wanting employment as a Child care assistant, Playgroup supervisor, Family day care worker, Child care worker and Nanny.

Course Duration

The course can be taken either as classroom studies or by correspondence. Classes are held for one day per week over a six-month period. Students are also required to complete on-the-job training (a field placement). You will be required to complete a minimum of 150 hours voluntary work in a Child care facility. Taken together, the classroom studies, placement work and assignments required to attain this qualification will take most students from 6-9 months.

Cost

$187.50 for those eligible for the Victorian Training Guarantee; $1600.00 for those not eligible

Costs also include an initial $55 enrolment fee.

Diploma Of Children's Services

This course equips workers to be responsible for developing and evaluating children's services programs. Workers at this level have the responsibility for the supervision of other staff and volunteer workers. In most states, it is the highest qualification required at director or service manager level.

Course Duration

This course is usually completed in approximately 18 months. It involves home study and on the job training. Students are required to complete assessments throughout their period of training, as well as a minimum of 300-500 hours of work in a child care facility under the supervision of a designated child care worker.

$375.00 for those eligible for the Victorian Training Guarantee; $3255.00 for those not eligible. Payment Plans are available for all who enquire, where each module can be payed for individually as you complete your course.
